The History of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. - by Founder, Bishop Edgar Amos Love Minimize

Good afternoon Brothers,

Today, as we all know, marks our 97th Anniversary; and we find ourselves only 1,095 days away from our Centennial Celebration. I urge the Brotherhood to reflect on the words of Founder, Bishop Edgar Amos Love who speaks from a position of true authority and integrity. It is my strong belief and opinion, that in order for Omega to continue to be relevant we must cling to the words and wisdom of our beloved, Founders. The speech was recorded circa 1973 at the home of Bishop Love.

Happy 97th Anniversary!!!!

May God continue to bless the legacy and of our beloved Founders, Dr. Ernest Everett Just, Professor Frank Coleman, Dr. Oscar James Cooper and Bishop Edgar Amos Love. May God continue to bless our beloved Fraternity and our collective families.

Fraternally,
Brother Lewis Anderson
Grand Keeper of Records and Seal

Zetta Kappa Kappa Get Out the Vote Effort

Greetings Brothers of Zeta Kappa Kappa

HelpingNovember 4, 2008 was a historic day, and I am proud to say Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. played a role in electing Senator Barack Obama to President of the United States. Our Chapter worked with the NAACP of Cleveland to transport residents to the polls. Our exit poll process confirmed 100% of the residents we transported voted for Obama. The papers will do a much better job than me in describing how wonderful it is to have the first African American as the President of the United States. I would just like to say it's awesome having an educated, articulate, respected family man who happens to be African American become the next President of the Untied States.

Secondly, I would like to thank Bro. Kidd, Bro. Miller, and Bro. Bond for giving their time and their effort. The four of us met at the NAACP office on Fairhill Rd around 9:15. We spent time with Mr. Stanley Miller and his staff organizing our day. Mr Miller and the staff all expressed their gratitude to us for transporting people to the polls. To maximize our time we took two vehicles out into the field. Over the course of six hours we took 11 residents to the polls. The locations were all across the city.

Finally, I would like to say without our efforts I don't think many of these residents would have made it to the polls. The residents ranged from a first time eligible voter who was blind to a 90 year woman living in her house by herself.

I could go on on and on about the day, but a picture tells a thousand words. Brother Kidd had a camera and I am certain he has some great pictures also.
